The practitioner

Dr Andrea Murray

A board-certified paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist, and the clinician you and your child will work with from beginning to end.

Dr Andrea Murray

Andrea specialises in the diagnosis of children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental conditions, and in the careful work of helping families understand them.

She holds a combined Masters/PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Melbourne, where her research focused on executive networks in the developing brain. She went on to a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, studying the origins and management of the various neurodevelopmental disorders, before returning to Australia and working as a clinician within public, educational and private sectors.

Andrea’s assessment process is shaped by a deep understanding of neurobiology, and is designed to help each child and family navigate life more successfully. She places real emphasis on working holistically across home and school to understand how each child operates. She then uses that knowledge to build innovative, tailored intervention approaches that scaffold a child’s world so they can function to their absolute capacity.

She is also a mum of two energetic kids of her own. In a spare moment, you’ll find her out walking, practising yoga, or attempting to learn Japanese.
